Mother water had pushed her out of her arms in a surge, leaving the poor animal to wheeze the water out of her lungs and hack up what she had left at the sanitorium. Cold bile fell out from in between the jagged teeth like a loose faucet. Silently hurling out the last bits of bread, meat, and some otherworldly food she forgot about, she revolted and gripped the mud as it squished under her hand. "Damn you, god almighty...liberate me, set me free from the hell that you've let me die in..." Her tiny voice dissolved into the murky air then turning into smoke; wasteful. It became apparent that there'd be no savior. No real mother, no true fathe

The water soothed her red burning skin as soon as her gashes met the water. Nature sure had it's nurturing power to mend the sick, she thought. Her once stiff arms lost its nerves, then her legs, then her eyes. Her body became sewn to the water as the night pursued her deeper and deeper into the water. The water's cold interior became subtly warm against her, as she hit the bottom. The mud. The water didn't do much for her when the mud seeped into her scales. Soft eyes blinked in front of morning light, awakening to the soft dying sound of the crickets. Once realization hit the child, she jolted up, surveying her surroundings. Moments of last night flashed in and out of her head; once connecting the pieces, she collapsed, still conscious, just, so tired. Her body suddenly moved without warning to the body of water, where she finally found composure. Everything seemed to slow down, which lulled her mind into serenity. This place felt very…. friendly.

    The blaring alarm was fading, to the point where it fell dead to her ears. Every step was rough and painful, but there was no mind, to her. She figured she would pick out the glass later, when she was actually concerned with pain. The only directive was running away.
